Fishers Creative Writing Camp

WHO: Students currently in grades 4-11
WHEN:

• Week 1 Camp: June 9-13, M-F, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

• Week 2 Camp: June 16-20, M-F, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

WHERE: BSU Fishers Center in Fishers, IN

COST: $150/week; Register for each week separately

Week 1 (June 9-13): Express Yourself!

This camp is for kids who love to write for self-expression. These writers enjoy telling personal stories and writing artistic works like poetry or drama. This camp will feature mini-lessons on using literary elements like figurative language and imagery masterfully. The week will culminate in a published work of personal writing in either poetic, dramatic, or narrative form.

Week 2 (June 16-20): Imagine Anything!

This camp is for kids who love to immerse themselves in imaginary worlds. These writers enjoy genres like sci-fi and fantasy. This camp will feature mini-lessons on storytelling elements like world building, characterization, and the hero’s journey. The week will culminate in a rough novel outline and a sample chapter.
